Eight Local Authorities recruiting foster carers together

Foster4 is a pioneering foster carer recruitment service. Based at Warrington Borough Council’s offices, we are a collaborative project, recruiting foster carers on behalf of eight Cheshire and Merseyside Local Authorities: Cheshire East, Cheshire West and Chester, Halton, Knowsley, Liverpool, St Helens, Warrington and Wirral.

By pooling our resources, we aim to recruit even more foster carers, provide even greater support to the ones we have, and ultimately keep more local children with local foster carers, reducing our reliance on Independent Fostering Agencies (IFAs).

We launched on 25th May 2024 and have been busy promoting fostering across our regions. We run regular recruitment campaigns, attend a whole host of events, shows and best practice conferences and run our own regular information sessions for those thinking about fostering.

Some of our foster carers have been fostering with us for over 40 years, others just a few months. All are ordinary people, just like you, doing an extraordinary role. Fostering families come in all shapes and sizes. There really is no such thing as the ‘ideal’ foster carer.

If you’re thinking about fostering, we really would love to hear from you. Tell us a little about yourself and we can provide lots of advice.

We are a Local Authority, not-for-profit service
