Halton Fostering Families Share ‘Fostering Moments’ Through Powerful New Exhibition

Halton Council fostering families are opening a window into their lives throughout May with a moving and deeply personal exhibition, ‘Fostering Moments’, which will be exhibited at Widnes Gallery on throughout May.  Inspired by the Fostering Network’s Foster Care Fortnight theme ‘This is Fostering’ which aims to shine a light on the everyday experiences of fostering and raise awareness of the positive impact foster carers have.

Running throughout the month, the exhibition brings together a collection of photographs, artwork and poetry created by foster carers, care experienced children and young people. Each piece offers a unique perspective on fostering, capturing the everyday moments, challenges, joys and connections that define fostering in Halton.

The exhibition aims to raise awareness of the vital role foster carers play in the community, while also giving a platform to voices that are often unheard. From candid snapshots of daily life to expressive artwork and heartfelt poetry, the exhibition tells stories of resilience, belonging and hope.

Visitors will have the opportunity to engage with authentic experiences of fostering, gaining a deeper understanding of what it means to provide a safe, supportive and nurturing environment for children and young people.

The exhibition is free to attend and open to the public throughout May at Widnes Gallery. Anyone interested in learning more about fostering are encouraged to visit.

To foster a child, you need to be 21 years or over and be able to provide a supportive, safe, and loving home, whilst also having the time and patience to dedicate to the children that you care for.
