Fostering babies and toddlers could be a great option for anyone who:
- Wants to make a real difference to the life of a young child, ensuring they have the best start
- Is great with babies and young children, has bundles of energy, patience and resilience
- Is at home full-time. Pre-school aged children will of course need you to be around to care for them. They may however attend nursery on some days, dependant on their age and their care plan, but in the main it will be your role to provide full-time care and nurture
- Can commit to frequently taking the child to family time with their birth parents or wider family. This can be up to 3-5 times per week for very young children, where the plan may be to rehabilitate them home to family when circumstances allow
- Can work alongside adoptive parents, undertaking sensitive and positive transitions, when adoption is the agreed plan for the child
- Has an interest in early childhood development, play-based learning, nutrition, and isn’t afraid to get stuck in with messy play!
- Is keen to learn and develop their skills through free training, extensive support and being part of a fantastic local family of foster carers
