Foster4 is proud to announce the launch of a new podcast ‘Let’s Chat About Fostering’. A new audio series created to inform and inspire others to foster with their Local Authority in Cheshire and Merseyside.

The Foster4 podcast will feature heartfelt conversations with foster carers, family members, care experienced young people and professionals from the fostering community. Each episode aims to highlight the realities of fostering, and offers guidance to anyone considering fostering.

Listeners can expect a mix of interviews, expert insights and most importantly personal stories, so whether you are an experienced foster carer, a professional working with children and young people or just curious to know more about fostering, the Foster4 Podcast will offer a unique and authentic insight into foster care.

The first episode in the series was released this week titled ‘The Voice of a Foster Sibling’. The Foster4 team are joined in the studio by Nathan, a birth child of foster carers, who shares his experience of fostering. From his parents discussing the possibility of becoming a fostering family, to forming lifelong bonds as a foster sibling and why he wants to be a Foster Carer when he’s old enough.  This heart warming conversation offers an honest, uplifting and inspiring perspective from a young person who is changing the lives of other children as a foster sibling. Nathan shared “for anyone thinking of fostering with their own children, I would say go for it, I think fostering has made me a better person”.

New episodes release every other Tuesday on all major podcast platforms including Apple, Spotify, YouTube.

Foster4 is a collaboration between nine Local Authorities in Cheshire and Merseyside: Cheshire East, Cheshire West and Chester, Halton, Knowsley, Liverpool, Sefton, St Helens, Warrington and Wirral.

With over 5000 children currently in care across the nine Local Authorities but just over 1200 approved local authority foster carers available, there is an urgent need to recruit new foster carers for the most vulnerable children in our region.
